About

Bon jour! I am a nomadic violinist, at home wherever there is an art gallery, tavern, street crowd, or any other gathering open to floating string music. As a solo act I go by Levitation Violin, and my ensemble goes by Levitation Quartet, the second word sometimes modified to reflect our number of players - Duo, Trio, Quintet, Sextet, etc

Music

Levitation Quartet is dedicated to playing a cabaret cocktail of french jazz manouche, mediterranean instrumental music, anarchist folk songs, and balkan / near eastern melodies. We alternate up-tempo swing pieces with yearning ballads, and create various spaces for improvisation. When playing solo as Levitation Violin, my repertoire with a looping station is similar, plus more of composers like Paganini and Debussy, and I call my roadmap method "theme and variations".
