About

Minyi Zhang, a Chinese-born pianist, earned her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees at The Juilliard School and is pursuing a Doctorate at Stony Brook University with Gilbert Kalish. Born in Shenzhen, she began piano at six and performed widely in China, including at the XXVI Summer Universiade. She won top prizes in the American International Music Competition, Carles and Sofia International Piano Competition, and Stony Brook Concerto Competition, and recently earned 2nd prize at the Franz Liszt International Liszt Competition, joining the American Liszt Society. Highlights include concerto performances with Stony Brook, Shenzhen, and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, and appearances at New York Fashion Week, The New York Times, and international venues across China, Japan, and the U.S.
