About

Duo Althea is a clarinet and piano duo founded by Nicola Possenti and Paolo Pellegrini. We met in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2019, and have since performed throughout Europe. Our mission is to bring chamber music to life by uncovering hidden gems, creating intimate musical experiences, and connecting emotionally with our audiences. We’ve been awarded in international competitions and are currently part of the Imola International Academy and the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM). We love sharing stories through music—whether in a concert hall or someone’s living room.

Music

Our repertoire blends classical masterpieces with rare and surprising discoveries. We explore Romantic and 20th-century works, including little-known Italian composers like Setaccioli and Busoni, and contemporary voices like Fabrizio Nastari. We also include Estonian composers such as Arvo Pärt and Lepo Sumera, reflecting our roots in Tallinn. From Brahms and Debussy to fresh, daring music of today, our goal is to create an engaging, borderless sound world.
