About

Classical guitarist and Naxos recording artist. Russian-born and Israeli-raised, Yuri Liberzon studied with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and with Benjamin Verdery at Yale, on full scholarship at both.

Solo appearances include the 92nd Street Y in New York, the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, the Lesher Center in Walnut Creek and the Marlow Guitar Series in Maryland. As soloist he has appeared with the Diablo Symphony, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, Gold Coast Chamber Players and Quartet San Francisco.

His recordings appear on Naxos and Laudable Records, and his arrangements of Bach and Scarlatti are published in Soundboard, the quarterly of the Guitar Foundation of America. USCIS granted him ‘Alien of Extraordinary Ability’ permanent residency for his achievements in music.

Broadcast credits include Voice of America, KUHF (NPR Houston), WDR German Television and Israel’s Kol HaMusica.
