Settle in for an evening of sound, story, and connection as we gather to experience a recorded performance of instrumental works by Black composers in an intimate, welcoming setting. This program invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and discover the richness of pieces by composers that have helped shape our musical landscape in profound and oft overlooked ways.
Presented in two thoughtfully curated 30-minute sets, the listening experience is designed to encourage reflection and community building. Whether you are a longtime lover of instrumental music or simply curious to explore something new, you’ll find space here to be present with the music and with one another. Before, after and between sets, enjoy a short intermission for mingling, conversation, and connection with fellow attendees.
Hosted by Catapult Greater Pittsburgh, this gathering is an invitation to appreciate artistry while building relationships. Come as you are, bring a friend, and allow yourself to be immersed in the creation and celebration of Black history.
