This isn’t a concert hall, but a beautiful home in San Francisco (Westwood Park) that turns out to be just the right scale for live music (ample parking)
Join us for an intimate house concert with pianist Parker Van Ostrand and soprano Cristina Villalobos, two young artists whose careers are gathering real momentum. Parker has already appeared as a soloist with major U.S. symphony orchestras and is currently studying at UCLA and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Cristina, a recent graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, recently won a major vocal concerto award, performing Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été with orchestra.
The evening opens with solo piano works by Haydn, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff — a compact journey from Classical clarity to full-blooded Romantic expression. The program then turns to art songs by Beethoven, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff, where voice and piano move together through love, longing, and the small emotional turns that make these composers timeless.
Parker and Cristina perform together often, and the ease between them gives this repertoire a natural, conversational flow — especially in a setting where nothing feels distant.
If you enjoy serious music without formality, close listening, and performances that benefit from being ten feet away rather than ten rows back, you’ll feel right at home.
