Host

Orchestra F.

Here at Groupmuse, we love building symbiotic relationships with other local arts organizations who are doing the good work of creating community through the making of great music. And Orchestra Futures is doing just that. Led by artistic director Robby Meese and founded in 2022, the chamber orchestra focuses on repertoire from the 20th century onward featuring the brightest musicians in New York City. And they've welcomed Groupmuse along for a Night Out!!

In an hour-long afternoon program, Orchestra Futures pairs two works of Richard Strauss: the tragic Metamorphosen for 23 solo strings, and the world premiere arrangement of the Cello Sonata for cello and chamber orchestra, featuring soloist John-Henry Crawford. Experience a piercing outcry against the destruction of war contrasted with the enthusiastic music of Strauss's youth as we usher in the fall on Central Park West.

Tickets typically run for $35 a piece, but because we're Groupmuse, we've got them for less than half price (and even less for Supermusers). Consider becoming a Supermuser with us for extra savings on every Night Out ticket, and unlimited free +1s at regular groupmuses.

Groupmuse ticket buyers are instructed to check in at Will Call. Seating is GA.
