Originally from Sacramento, CA and currently based in New York City, Desmond Barrett (23) has risen to eye-raising heights.

During his 10 year tenure in live Jazz Saxophone Performance, Desmond has released 2 Hip-Hop albums, and 1 Jazz album. His 4th album is currently set to release in Winter of 2025.

Desmond’s tenure in New York City began 4 years ago, immersing himself in the music scene by busking in city parks and jam sessions at Jazz clubs. His appearances at legendary venues include Red Rooster, Ornithology, Nublu, Smalls Jazz Club, and more. Desmond also performs for corporate events, weddings, and churches.

Desmond’s musical presence in the Tri-State area has expanded beyond the Jazz scene, and into fashion and pop-culture conversations.

Recently, he made an appearance on On The Radar Radio, which grossed over 1 million views on Instagram and 100k views on YouTube. He’s also performed live for the likes of LVMH, SERHANT., KAPHILL (Gap x Harlem’s Fashion Row).

Music

I like to play to all sorts of genres! Jazz, Funk, R&B, Salsa, Instrumentals, and Originals. Some Sade, or Michael Jackson. Some Lo-Fi tranquil background music, if you'd like to converse over the sax playing! Some classics by The Isley Brother's and Stevie Wonder.

I play to curated playlists at times, at other times I like to play unaccompanied.

I love to play with guitarists as well, Saxophone/Guitar is of the best of duo's.
